At Southern Kidney Specialists, our board-certified nephrologists look forward to restoring kidney health every day. We are the 2nd largest nephrology private practice in Middle Tennessee with offices located in Nashville, Cool Springs, Hermitage and Murfreesboro. We make our comprehensive care easy to access through prompt scheduling and even accommodate same day urgent appointments. We accept most insurances plans.

Dr. Abhijay Jalota
Dr. Abhijay Jalota is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with kidney disease, hypertension, and complex medical conditions. He completed his Fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at Georgetown University, Washington DC and his Internal Medicine Residency at the Saint Joseph Hospital–University of Illinois at Chicago, IL
After practicing in Clarksville, Tennessee, Dr. Jalota and his family chose to make Middle Tennessee their long-term home. He is passionate about serving the community and building lasting relationships with his patients. Now residing in Brentwood, Dr. Jalota is committed to putting down roots in the area and providing personalized, high-quality care close to home.
Dr. Jalota believes in treating every patient with respect, empathy, and clear communication, partnering with them to achieve the best possible health outcomes.
Meet Nikhil Parikh, MD, MPH
Dr. Parikh is board certified in Internal Med, Nephrology & Hypertension. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL where he served as Chief Resident. He trained in Nephrology at the University of Illinois in Chicago, IL. After his training in Illinois, Dr. Parikh practiced in Sheboygan, Wisconsin where he also served as a Medical Director. He also has earned a Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology.
Dr. Parikh moved to Nashville with his family in Fall of 2022. His wife, who is a Cardiologist at Vanderbilt, and family (including his 2 dogs) look forward to all that Middle Tennessee has to offer.
Dr. Parikh’s clinics are located in Franklin and Nashville. He is available to see patients that are admitted to Williamson Medical Center, Centennial Medical Center, Summit Medical Center, Ascension St Thomas Midtown and West Hospitals.
